Manage remote machines in Settings → Servers. dsh-tauri-ssh is off by default; enable it before connecting.

Connect a machine

  1. Enable SSH and choose a ~/.ssh/config alias or Add machine.
  2. Check the host, user, and SSH port; optionally set a remote port, profile, or start command.
  3. Select Test or Connect, then Open the remote window.
  4. On the initiating machine, choose Sync to remote and select third-party plugins and user-level Skills.

Install Harness on the remote

Use Install dsh to download, verify, and deploy to remote ~/.dsh-desktop, then connect automatically. Installation may copy DEEPSEEK_API_KEY and optional DEEPSEEK_BASE_URL from the local .env to remote ~/.dsh/.env; an existing remote key is not overwritten. Check the installation result. If no local key exists, configure the remote Models page.

Data and security

  • Machine configuration, including saved credentials: $DSH_HOME/ssh/machines.json.
  • First connections automatically record host fingerprints in $DSH_HOME/ssh/known-hosts.json; later mismatches are rejected.
  • When DSH_HOME is unset, these paths use ~/.dsh. The connection API is /api-ssh on local loopback.
  • The remote Web service is accessed through an SSH tunnel; its Web port need not be exposed publicly.
Recording a first-seen fingerprint is not prior verification of the server’s identity. Connect only to trusted machines. Installation and sync modify remote files, execute code, and may copy API keys. Do not share machine state files.
