# DSH Tauri Pet

> Manage Chat and Codex pets, preset assets, and conversation activity states.

`dsh-tauri-pet` provides Pets and Codex tabs in Settings and controls a separate transparent, always-on-top, frameless pet window through the `dsh-tauri` Tauri invoke bridge.

## User-visible features

* **Pets**: view Chat-source pets and the preset pet catalog.
* **Codex**: view Codex pets in `$HOME/.codex/pets` and import `.zip` resource packs.
* Download preset pets to `$DSH_HOME/pets/<id>` and enable them after installation.
* Create a standard session with `/hatch-dsh-pet` prefilled; the command is not submitted automatically.
* Adjust pet size from 50–200% and display conversation activity, bubbles, and movement states.
* The sidebar status dot reflects current window visibility; hiding the window does not disable it persistently.

## Resource and data boundaries

Preset pets are declared in `src-tauri/resources/preset-pets.json` with a remote repository, pinned commit, and asset directory. Media is not bundled with the plugin; users download it from Settings, and installation keeps only files under the declared asset prefix.

Chat pets use `${DSH_HOME:-$HOME/.dsh}/pets`, while Codex pets use `$HOME/.codex/pets`. The two sources remain separate through `list_pets({ source: 'chat' | 'codex' })`. The plugin provides the `hatch-dsh-pet` skill under its own `providerName: dsh-tauri-pet`, without replacing other skill providers or default roots.

  Pet assets come from remote repositories; verify the source before downloading. The desktop and plugins still have the local code and file access allowed by Harness. Profiles are not operating-system sandboxes.
