# Mobile interface

> Use touch-adapted sessions, the sidebar, and settings in a phone browser.

`dsh-tauri-mobile-ui` adapts the Harness interface for phone browsers; it does not provide networking or authentication. First connect to the serving computer using [Mobile remote access](../guides/mobile-remote-access).

## What changes on a phone

* A top bar shows the current session, with sidebar and new-session controls. Swipe horizontally to open or close the sidebar.
* Mobile settings separate the category list from details, with a back button. Theme, language, and settings controls remain available.
* Sending a message or swiping vertically through the conversation dismisses the keyboard.

Adaptation depends on touch capabilities and window size; narrowing a desktop window does not necessarily activate it. Mobile settings use the existing Harness settings, not a separate configuration.

## Fallback and boundaries

* Mobile devices keep the official settings dialog instead of the desktop settings sidebar. An incompatible settings structure leaves the native interface intact.
* If session creation is unavailable, the new-session control reports failure rather than creating a separate session system.
* The host entry is a no-op; interface logic runs in the browser. It neither installs a native phone app nor starts a core on the phone.

Remote access still operates Harness on the computer. Share links or pairing codes only with trusted devices; the [Remote access plugin](./dsh-tauri-remote) manages network sharing and authorization.
